Steven Yang | Middle School Math Tutor

I am Steven Yang a junior at Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. I was originally from Beijing and moved to the U.S with my family after elementary school. Since I was a young kid, I have shown great passion and talent in the field of mathematics. I have near-perfect scores in a very advanced math course at Taft, perfect scores in SSAT and SAT exams, and several math-related publications in research journals. More importantly, I love working with kids to spread my perspective and knowledge in math. I have great tutoring experiences, including volunteering as a math tutor at the Danbury public library and the Watertown Boys and Girls Club. I would describe myself as a diligent person, as I put forth my best effort in everything I do. For tutoring middle school students, I am capable of teaching students at different levels and especially focus on topics they need the most help with, such as algebra, geometry, interpreting the graph, word problems… I will spend time preparing before each session and developing a detailed plan to enhance students' math abilities and critical thinking skills.
