June Lee | Middle School Tutor

Hello! I am a first-year student at Barnard College of Columbia University who loves working with kids and is considering a career in primary and secondary education. I am a published author with one of my poems currently part of an anthology that is selling on Amazon, and another scheduled for publication by Eber & Wein Publishing next quarter.  Several of my other works have also received national-level awards. I recently taught math and English as a TA at an elementary school in Westchester County and previously worked as an English instructor at Hikarino Koen preschool in Tokyo, and as a TA at the KEA Korean language School in New Jersey.  I also help high school students with their college essays.  I have been teaching children in some capacity for many years. My teaching style is very creative and fun because I want each student to be excited about our work together.  I use storytelling to engage students and try my best to format the lesson like a game. Most importantly, I am excited when my students succeed and strive to create a safe space to make lots of good mistakes. I would love to help anyone work on anything ranging from basic writing all the way to getting their works published.  There are lots of opportunities for middle schoolers!
